  38. Perhaps I'm naive, but putting Japanese on the screen should be
  39. no more than a question of making the proper system call for a
  40. screen write....

  42. As an interim measure, you can do what I do: make a "DOS/V" boot disk
  43. and use the OS/2 "dos from drive a" option to start a Japanese session.
  44. Then, run kermit 3.14 in this dos session.  I do this regularly to
  45. access the Nikkei telecom data base (bastardized old jis).  The only
  46. problem I've noticed is that OS/2 has a bit of trouble handling 38,400
  47. baud with Japanese.

  49. The specific "DOS/V" that I use is IBM PC-DOS/V 6.3 but most
  50. other variants should work.
